remember the time when the web was personal?

before corporate giants decided what we wanted to see, there were blogs and forums full of weird, niche communities. people created their own sites and designed pages that actually reflected their personality, imperfect and real.

this was an internet where creativity came before conformity! before everything became boring and stale.

i refuse to even acknowledge the idea that AI and mega corporations should decide what the future of the internet is.

fuck the sanitized, sterile designs that have replaced personal blogs with influencer feeds.

the belief that content has to be optimized and monetized for mass consumption is just another money making ploy to feed the pigs.

make your own blog, write in your own voice, design your page with purpose.

let’s keep the old world wide web alive by maintaining our individuality online.

don’t let future historians see a dead internet.

how to protect yourself from slop on the internet and keep your mind free of bullshit

1. ditch twitter/x, use bluesky.
2. use an ad block. you don't owe advertisers your attention.
3. use google? use an anti-ai extension for your searches.
4. abandon all use of chatgpt and other ai engines.
5. delete tiktok. you don't need it.
6. reduce your use of social media. limit how many apps you use.
7. don't consume ai generated media, including memes. you're just generating engagement.
8. don't form parasocial relationships with celebrities. they don't know you exist.
9. unfollow the kardashians if you haven't already...
10. pirate your movies, shows, and games (if they belong to a corporation and not a small company).
11. watch documentaries. learn new, random things.
12. inform yourself on the current political climate.
13. don't pay attention to online drama. it's really not that interesting.
